Standing up for the practicing physician
Well, if some of you would become cardioncologist that would be so helpful survivors like me. My EP rocks the boat when it comes to knowledge of LQTS and T wave alterans, but he doesn't consider the consequence of taking that heart and poisoning it with 450 mg's of doxyrubicin and then baking it with radiation. My cardiologist was suprised when I told him that doxyrubicin had the potential to scar the ion channels of the heart and kidneys. My oncologist doesn't know, he's not a cardiologist. We survived cancer only to be left in a gray area where the rest of our health care is concerned.
