That is cool! When I looked at similar studies last year I was encouraged that they were looking at growing organs at all. I became alarmed however that instead of one heart they grew two.
A friend of mine had a mild heart attack in Atlanta a few weeks ago and was approached by Emory Univ to be evaluated for a study where your own stem cells from bone marrow are injected into your heart to see if they can regenerate healthy heart muscle on the damaged parts. Crude explanation I know but that is what I understood. Good news/ bad news his muscle was barley 10% damaged so he could not participate in the study.
The gap between science and medicine still exists but we are closing it every day. Amazing!
