Jalife to Join University of Michigan

Jose Jalife, MD, a skilled researcher in the basic science of the electrophysiology of atrial fibrillation, will be leaving his long-time home at the State University of New York (SUNY) for the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. His basic science work (and research grants) will compliment the clinical work of Fred Morady, MD, who is already based there.

According to a UofM news release "In January, at least 25 scientists, physicians, students and research staff will begin arriving in Ann Arbor to start new jobs in the U-M Division of Cardiovascular Medicine." Sounds like a big gain for the U. By the way, read Russell Robertson's bio, and he's a Michigan man too, albiet from Wayne State. Lousy economy, at least in the Detroit area now, but we surely have good health care here.
