Lemieux with Afib

Recent article about Mario Lemieux being let go from hospital for atrial fib. It can happen to anyone. Now his heart muscle function is probably OK so aspirin anticoagulation might be OK, but man, those hockey fights would be IMPRESSIVE if he were on coumadin! :)

Our thoughts and prayers go out to him.

How do I find a good cardiac doctor in Pittsburgh? I don't know where to start. I have an appointment today with one at UPMC but I don't have any faith in her. I have had A Fib for about 2 years and take beta blocker and I am on warfarin. I have had a lot of problems in the last few weeks and I would like to consult an another doctor.

Consider going to the Heart Rhythm Society's Find a Doctor webpage and enter "Pittsburgh" for the city and "Pennsylvania" for the state fields. It will show their medical school training site with their numbers and addresses - most are members of HRS and likely Board Certified (although I'd check).

Hope this helps -
