"As a third year medical student, I would also argue that this is creating a generation of dumb doctors. My school (average US MD school in the Midwest) has almost abandoned teaching physiology and understanding. We have the virtues of guidelines shoved down our throats instead. Recognize a pattern, apply the appropriate guideline. That's medical school these days...."-Anonymous commenter

Dear Midwest Medical Student,
Beyond the touchy feely, what could you have possibly been thinking when you traded away your chance for future intellectual freedom & independence for an expensive and arduous slog into bondage? Now THAT'S dumb!
Inappropriate equals DOJ investigation. AG perp walk for docs who refuse to comply. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.

"Abandoned physiology?" What does that mean? Every med school (teaches) it! But alas, knowing anatomy and physiology IS important to finding out WHY someone has something. I'm sure you'd agree, dear med student. As you know, all guidelines do, other than provide a possible way of taking care of conditions, is to also stifle the doctor mind. Keep up the great work and always ask "Why?!"
