Open Mic Day at Dr. Wes: Tell the World What You Think

No one wants to hear what I think about the Supreme Court's health care decision today, but everyone wants to hear what you think (whether it's about the decision or not).

Let 'er rip if you'd like, but please, keep it civil.   (Twitter users:  you can use more than 140 characters here if you'd like.)

  1. I hope the supreme court does their job- if they do, at least parts of Obamacare will be struck down.

Next up Holder- good day for me to keep the news streaming all day.

Stock market is going to be up for a ride- keeping an eye on those too.

  2. It's a shame that the 'historic opportunity' wasn't used to attack the core problem. If we can't tame cost inflation, nothing else will matter.

The spin from both sides will be nauseating.

  4. Listening to NPR with my carpool buddy today, Georgia republican senator Johnny Issacson was the cool head of reason. He is of the opinion that a better idea to tearing the law down is to begin to amend it to weed out the bad, but keep the good. Another person interviewed (sorry, I don't remember his name) added that to make the law feasible that more was needed to be done to tame the high cost of a medical education and with tort laws to draw new doctors, especially primary care doctors into the profession. He also gave a lot of other opinions that I wasn't so thrilled with. I think that these two men together lit a path that we need to follow. There are advantages for me personally with the law. I will now be insurable again. I can't outspend my insurance cap. I can keep my daughter om my insurance until she is 26. There are other parts of the law that leave me shuddering in fear. The next few years are going to be a painful learning curb, but we have what we have. I think we'd all do better to move away from polarization and remember how to work with one another again.

  5. Whether we like it or not, it's what we will have to work with. All legislation undergoes changes and revisions as time goes on and needs evolve. Let's all try and work together to make it better instead of complaining about each other - - it's our system of government. It's not perfect, but it's all we have right now.

  6. I don't really have an opinion "yet". I am still trying to filter through it all. We are a family of 6 where 4 of us have Type 1 diabetes. We have private insurance so much of this doesn't apply to us unless for some reason my husband loses his job I suppose?
