These guys are also known as the Amateur Transplants. They have a bunch of equally as funny stuff up on YouTube. I make a reference to something from them at least daily.
I rather suspect these funny fellows got their idea originally from an anecdote told by Isaac Asimov.
While he was waiting in an office, he was rehearsing a way to make the term "paradichloroacetyl benzaldehyde" easier for his students to say. He repeated it to the tune of the Irish Washerwoman as the receptionist returned.
"Oh," she said, "how grand. You know it in the original Gaelic!"
