"On October 24, 2008, we received a letter from the U.S. Department of Justice ('DOJ') informing us of an investigation relating to surgical cardiac ablation system devices to treat atrial fibrillation. We intend to cooperate with the investigation."I wonder, might it relate to the same issues that Atricure recently endured?

I don't know about off-label uses, but I do know ablation was a God-send for my dad. He is a fit and active 71 y.o. who can still cut down from trees (dead or dying), cut-up, split, load, unload, and stack 3 loads of wood in a morning. That's what he does for fun. ;) When he started with the atrial fib, his heart rate was already so low medications wouldn't work. A pacemaker was rejected (yes, I know...the odds are so tiny for that it's unbelievable), and his only recourse was ablation. A wonderful doctor at the University of Virginia fixed him right up. It was amazing. My dad takes no medications, is healthy and active, and puts most 40 y.o.'s to shame.
ReplyDeleteSo....I hope this doesn't interfere with helping others have the same wonderful outcome.
