On hospice:


"Do you think it's infected?"

"Grab a culture and gram stain."
"Probably."

Should we give antibiotics?

Yes, will start Vancomycin empirically.
"No."

"How long will this take?"

"We never know, but rest assured we'll do everything possible."
"I don't know, but rest assured he'll be comfortable."
