This morning’s Wall Street Journal (subscription required) discloses another problem with health care costs: pharmaceutical special interests on Capital Hill. It seems the drug companies are pumping millions into campaigns for our elected fearless leaders in an interest to sway the vote. Here’s an outline of the Top 10 contributions:
Rick Santorum (R, PA) - $454, 500
Orrin Hatch (R Utah) - $301, 050
Joe Lieberman (I, Conn.) - $240, 740
Mike Ferguson (R, NJ) - $239, 670
Edward Kennedy, (D, Mass.) - $226, 550
Mike DeWine (R, Ohio) - $214,040
Nathan Deal (R, Georgia) - $183, 590
Jon Kyl (R, Arizona) - $179, 500
Nancy Johnson (R, Conn) - $171, 460
Ben Nelson (D, Nebraska) - $169, 890
Total contributions, just with these ten: $2,380, 990! * Ka-ching! *
You can bet there are MANY others. * Ka – ching! *
Don’t let those imports of cheaper drugs occur! * Ka – ching! *
These 10 contributions represent 238 more people without a year’s worth of health care coverage…
* flush * goes the toilet…
