Darvon (propo...As a pharmacist, I agree with Bram. Darvon (propoxphene) by itself is rarely used. In fact, most drug wholesales (including mine) don't stock it because its such a poor analgesic. The more commone drug is Darvocet - propoxyphene with acetaminophen - there goes your abilbity to mask a fever. It is still habit forming, causes opiate withdrawal when stopped, and causes respiratory depression.
